Center for Behavioral Safety

Founded by our Director in 1999 at the University of Nevada-Reno, the Center for Behavioral Safety, LLC emphasizes strategies grounded in the behavioral sciences to provide assessment, training, and consultation services for mining, manufacturing, and construction companies interested in improving or sustaining their safety record, developing leaders, and motivating employees to world-class performance in safety, environmental compliance, quality, and production.

We specialize in helping clients design and implement customized employee-driven safety processes that will prevent injuries, save lives, and reduce the costs associated with injuries. We can also help to get an existing behavior-based safety process re-vitalized and back on track.

Benefits of working with CBS include: an improved safety record, reduced costs, increased employee morale, increased productivity and quality, and less employee turnover. Because our processes are mostly employee-driven, front-line supervisors are not burdened with additional work, but instead learn more effective leadership skills.

If you are not yet ready for a comprehensive Behavior-Based Safety Process, please inquire about our Culture Assessment process-including the innovative Data-Accuracey CoeficientTM, and our Evidence-Based LeadershipTM training.

Led by Thomas E. (Ted) Boyce, Ph.D., a behavioral scientist who specializes in improving quality of life, CBS now has offices in Reno, San Francisco, and Tampa.
